If I were stranded on a deserted island and I could only have one item with me, it would be the Peter Thomas Rothe CC Cream.

Honestly, it is THAT good.

I’ve never really been a huge fan of BB creams or CC creams. I always considered them as unnecessary. I like to keep my beauty routine VERY simple. Primers, multiple layers of foundation, contouring, powders blah blah blah… it’s overwhelming and not for me. I do put on a little more makeup when going out but since I work from home I like to go au naturale during the work week. I usually throw on a little foundation and a splash of bronzer and head out the door. Most of the time I’m too lazy busy to even do that.

I am not really fond of foundation either. I always feel like I’m wearing too much makeup during the day regardless of how ‘light’ and ‘weightless’ it is supposed to be. When BB and CC creams first came out I decided to give them a shot since they were supposed to be lighter than foundation.  Most of the creams that I purchased were returned and the ones that remained ended up living in the dark corners of my makeup drawer.

I found that most of the BB/CC creams didn’t provide enough coverage, left my face WAY too shiny, made me look like an orange Snookie, or gave me terrible break-outs.  Plus, I never really understood the point of the creams. Now we need a moisturizer, BB cream, AND foundation? I was overwhelmed.

Fast forward to my first encounter with Peter Thomas Rothe’s CC cream.

I was browsing through Instagram and saw a girl raving about how amazing her face looked after she used the PTR CC cream. She’s not a beauty blogger and doesn’t post a lot about her makeup so if she was taking the time to post about it, it had to be good.

I was already a huge fan of PTR products so I decided to give it a try.  WHERE HAS THIS BEEN ALL MY LIFE?! Can I just tell you that this stuff is LIQUID GOLD. I don’t know how I lived without it. Was there life before PTR CC Creams? It’s hard to imagine that there was.

Hasta la vista Pores and Discoloration

CC Cream stands for complexion correcting. I don’t have a lot of discoloration but I do tend to be a little uneven and pink in some areas. A swipe of this stuff across my face makes my complexion p-e-r-f-e-c-t. You know the filter that everyone loves because it makes your skin look flawless? Well, this CC cream does JUST that. It’s like a filter for your face  (I can’t believe I just used that phrase. What has Instagram done to us?). Your pores also magically disappear which is a huge reason why I love this product. I tend to have big pores around my nose and I have a very hard time masking them. This stuff literally erases them.  What is this sorcery?

A Little Goes A Long Way

They mean it when they say use a little. You’ll notice that it is pretty thick so if you use too much it can look a little caked on. I  dab a tiny bit on my forehead, nose, and cheeks and rub it in with my fingers. You use such a small amount so this stuff lasts forever!

Shine Bright Like A Diamond

I hate anything that claims to give you a ‘healthy glow’.  My face is oily and putting anything on that promotes a ‘shine’ makes me look oily AF. I don’t look dewy, I look like a sweaty mess and by the end of the day entire face ends up on a napkin from excess blotting.  Not this stuff!  The PTR CC cream gives me the PERFECT glow. It has a light tint to it so you end up with a sun kissed glow and I can wear it all day long without becoming oily or shiny. I’m convinced that this is a miracle in a tube!

You Don’t Need Cover-Up

I usually put on the CC cream and then a little setting powder and I’m ready to go. If I’m going out for the evening I’ll add foundation but that’s only because I usually cake my face a little more on the weekends. It’s very light weight but still manages to cover up imperfections making it perfect for the summer.  A little CC cream, some powder, and off you go to margaritas and sunshine.

Anti-aging, Vitamin C, and Sunscreen

This cream is full of the good stuff!. Arbutin and Camu Camu has 30 times the vitamin C in oranges which means an increase in collagen giving you younger, brighter, and firmer skin over time. The Vitamin C helps mask imperfections and fights off free radicals found in the air. One of the most important ingredients for me is the added SPF 30.  Im HUGE on daily sunscreen.

I’m telling you; there is a reason why the tube is shiny and orange … it truly is Liquid Gold!

It looks like PTR just released a new moisturizer/primer called “Skin To Die For” that is similar to this CC cream but with a matte finish! It’s currently sold out on their website but as soon as  I get a hold of it I’ll write a review !
