I already have ‘bride brain’ and I haven’t even officially started planning my wedding. I know planning a wedding is stressful but I wasn’t prepared for this. I can’t even make up my mind when it comes to what to have for dinner. I’m predicting at least one bridezilla moment in the near future… if not two.
I spent the weekend visiting what feels like every single bridal boutique in Southern California. (I’m going to write a detailed blog about the do’s and don’ts of wedding dress shopping so check back soon!) Good news is I THINK I found my wedding dress! Thank God… because I was about to go mental if I had to try on any more wedding dresses. It’s fun but SO exhausting.
On another note, summer weather is officially here and I’m so excited to swap out all of my winter clothes for shorts, tanks and summer dresses.
shirt dress = a summer staple
I love a good shirt dress for summer. I have a few different styles in my closet ( t-shirt, button down, sleeveless, etc.) and I wear them all the time; especially during the day when it’s super hot outside and I want to wear something loose.
Shirt dresses are also a FAB option when it comes to summer vacays! Lightweight, effortless chic, and SO easy to pack. Just remember to bring along your travel steamer. We never leave home without it. (check out my post about wrap dress, another great option for travel).
As you already know, I love clothes that can easily transition from day to night. A shirt dress is so damn versatile and can be dressed up or down. Sneakers during the day to run errands and cute little wedges for date night.
I find a lot of shirt dresses to look a little boxy. If you want to accentuate your figure a bit more, I recommend tying a denim jacket or button up shirt around the waist or adding a belt to achieve a more fitted look. How cute is this denim jacket from Madwell and this white denim from J Crew (Under $100!)???
A. It’s striped and stripes are a necessity when it comes to your summer wardrobe
B. The added ties around the waist are a fun little detail and accentuates the waist
I completed this look with oversized Quay sunglass. They are super flattering on and I love how unique the lenses are. One word of caution… these are SERIOUSLY oversized and you may have to play with them a bit to ensure a perfect fit. They kept falling off my face so I had to bend the tips quite a bit to get them to stay.
This AllSaints backpack (currently on sale!!!!) has now turned into my everyday bag. I LOVE the 2 in 1 action. You can wear this bag as a backpack or a purse which is simply genius.
I’m off to enjoy this beautiful summer weather we are having right now! Thanks for stopping by! Xo.
